Our Senior Ladies took the long journey to Hollywood tonight to play Ballymore. This was always going to be a tough game against a well seasoned Ballymore side. Ellistown got on the scoreboard within the 1st minute with a well taken point by Louise Scully. Ballymore settled and found their rhythm thereafter. However, the Ellistown ladies never gave up and fought to the final whistle. Our backs put up a huge performance under alot pressure but couldnt Stem the Ballymore tide. Team tonight - Gemma Donnelly (captain), Laura Cullen, Aideen Grey, Shannon Edwards, Clodagh OLoughlin, Ailish OLoughlin, Amber Ellis, Maggie Cullen, Louise Scully, Kate Scully, Roisin Bracken, Kate OLoughlin, Muireann Scully, Emma Bracken, Aoife Kelly, Shannon Scully, and Caoimhe Whiteley. ... Ellistown minors played their last group game in the league at home against Naas on Sunday morning. This was a must win game for Ellistown in order to qualify for a semi final spot. With this in mind the lads set about their task with determination and attacked the game. first half points by Blackie and a couple of points from Oran Donnelly, who had just returned from injury and a cracking goal from Pat Martin who had a lot of work to do to carve open the Naas defence before dispatching the ball to the top corner. The half time score was 1-4 each with the Naas goal coming from the penalty spot after a big decision from the referee because the foul seemed to have occurred outside the square. On the resumption Naas immediately goaled with a well worked move and midway through the half our keeper fumbled a wet ball and it crossed the line for another goal. This was unfortunate for Brandon as up to this point he had kept us in the game with two fine saves. Shortly after this Brandon made another fine catch on the goal line and when his clearance kick was blocked into the Ellistown net it looked ominous for the home side. The lads refused to give up however and with goals from Oran Donnelly and Adam fitzpatrick and with Oran punishing Naas from frees the match was level coming into the closing stages there followed a frantic few minutes but it remained a draw, which meant that Naas and Castledermot go through to the semi finals. Ellistown also had what looked like a legitimate goal disallowed in the second half for a square ball. Anyway the work rate and application of the Ellistown players was very impressive to watch ---- bring on the Championship. James Sutton, Stephen Breen, Brandon, Conor Lindy, Noel Lawler all made huge contributions in defence. Kevin Martin and Devon Guing worked tirelessly at midfield and the aforementioned scorers plus Craig Heffernan, Cormac Maughan and Tomas Scully looked lively up front. ... See MoreSee Less

Report by Brendan OLoughlin - Ellistown u16 girls played their fourth league game away to Naas 2 on Saturday last. The rain for the previous 24 hours ensured that the going was very heavy indeed but despite this Ellistown started the livelier and led by 1-4 to 0-1 after 15 minutes thanks excellent midfield play by Kelly O' Brien and up front the usual suspects were doing their thing assisted by the two Aoifes -Sloane and O'loughlin and Emma Bracken. Naas, however, were not for throwing in the towel and they rallied and at half time the score was 2-5 to 2-2 in favour of the visiting side. In the second half Naas turned up the heat and before long took the lead and for a time looked like they were going to be out of sight. Ellistown were now struggling to find any rhythm but struggle they did and managed to cut the Naas lead to 3 points. Then an Ellistown free was taken short and intercepted by a Naas player and what should have been an Ellistown point ended up a Naas goal and the game was up. Such is football and there will be days like this but I'm sure that we'll refocus and come back with a vengeance. Ella Moore gave the management food for thought it the second half when she came in as an attacker and showed her blinding speed at every opportunity. Also Kate O'loughlins great work ethic at midfield was sorely missed when she came off injured. Final score Naas 5-7 Ellistown 2-9. ... See MoreSee Less

Ellistown u16 girls played their third league game at home last Tuesday evening. The game was played in perfect conditions and the most notable thing about the game was the outstanding performances by Ellistowns fullback line of Mairead Scully, Caoimhe Whiteley, Shannon Scully and Muireann Uses (Caoimhe and Shannon took turns at full back and goalie in each half). They were the platform on which this game was won. The score at half time was 3-4 to 0-1 in favour of the home side with Alice Breen testing St Kevins defence at every opportunity. Also getting on the score board in the first half was Fiadh Whiteley and Ailish O'loughlin. The second half was largely dominated by Ellistown apart from 2 fine goals that St Kevins scored. The final score was 4-11 to 2-1. The Ellistown wide tally at the end was approx 12 wides, which gives an indication of their dominance in this game. Also impressive in the game was Kate and Aoife O'loughlin and Abbie Donnelly who seemed to revel in her new role as an attacker. ... See MoreSee Less

The Ellistown U14's kicked off their Feile campaign this afternoon at home to Celbridge. This proved to be a comfortable afternoons work as the Ellistown midfield pairing of powerhouse Cillian Duffy and David Dunne controlled proceedings supplying the forwards with plenty of opportunities to get the scoreboard ticking.
Good contributions also from Jamie Cullen, Darragh Watson and Tom Waters.
Fair play to Celbridge lads who never gave it up. This is the clubs second win in the Feile in 5 years, the way this team is playing we hopefully won't have to wait too long for the next one.
Well done all.
