Congratulations to our U13 team who this morning reached the South Board league final following a superb performance against Kildangan in Ellistown. The visitors certainly put it up to the boys and played their part in a lively encounter. On the day, however, Ellistown were able to move the ball that bit better and took some great team scores to get home by 11-17 to 6-8.
The boys will now contest next Sunday's final, a fantastic achievement for a team newly promoted into this division. Please come out and support this terrific bunch next Sunday, details of the final will be posted here when known. πŸ€—πŸπŸπŸ

The Ellistown U13's visited Monasterevin this evening in the South Board league and put in their best performance of the season. The boys were in control right from the off and took some lovely scores throughout. Difficult to pick out individuals after such a strong team performance but David Dunne, Evan Donnelly and Caelan Whitely were simply outstanding on the night. Well done to both sides for putting on such a sporting encounter. For Ellistown, they are one win away from reaching the final and they play Kildangan on Sunday morning in Ellistown at 10.30. Support welcome!

Our Senior Ladies took to the field yesterday evening in very warm conditions to play their 3rd Championship game against Eadstown 2. The game was played with 13 aside and the visitors got off to a great start and scored the 1st point. Ellistown soon found their rhythm and got some good scores but were not utilising their possession to full extent. At half time the score was 1.4 to 2 pts in Ellistowns favour. After some changes in personnel at half time, Ellistown got into gear and continued to add to their tally. Eadstown to their credit, fielding a very young team, never game up but Ellistown ladies were just too strong on the night.
Best of luck to Eadstown in their remaining games.
A fantastic team performance by Ellistown Ladies. πŸ€—

The Ellistown U13's had to make a tricky trip to Rheban this morning in the South Board league. Rheban flew out the blocks and dominated the first half and had built up a handy 11 point lead at the break. Ellistown kept at it and never gave up the ghost and threw in the kitchen sink in the last 5 minutes to come within just 3 points when the final whistle went. Final score Rheban 7-8 Ellistown 5-11, well done to both teams on producing such an entertaining encounter.

Our U10s welcomed a strong Nurney side to Ellistown on Tuesday evening.
A good start by Nurney was cancelled out by solid defending from Cillian, Andrew, TJ and SΓ©an in defence. From this strong base, Conor, Charle and Michael began to take control of midfield setting up some good scores for Cian, Tyler and Harry
In the second half, strong defence from Liam and Kate ensured the Elistown win.
Thanks to Nurney for a great game of football. 😊🏐🏐🏐

The Ellistown U13's hosted Ballymore this morning in the South Board league. Every available Under 11, 12 and 13 was called into action for this well contested clash in warm conditions. Both teams went at it throughout but Ellistown had the edge in the scoring zone and great to see the points shared around the team. A great effort from the boys who are improving nicely. Thanks to Ballymore for a very sporting affair. Final score Ellistown 4-14 Ballymore 4-4

Our Senior Ladies took the short trip to Allenwood tonight to take on Na Fianna in their 2nd championship game in their fabulous new jerseys (hand delivered by Ger Arnold) and very kindly sponsored by The Harp Bar and Bright Sparks (Triona Gleeson). The girls played with great determination and had some great passages of play throughout. The scores came in abundance with many players contributing to the scoreline. It was a huge team effort and a game Ellistown fully deserved to win. Best of luck to Na Fianna in their remaining fixtures in the Championship.

A great start by our U13 team this evening in the South Board league at home to Two Mile House. The boys were a bit rusty early on but soon clicked into gear and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Fair play to the TMH lads who never gave it up, thanks to them for a very sporting game.
Next up for Ellistown are Ballymore on Sunday morning, 10.30 throw in at home, all support welcome.

Our under 12 Girls travelled to play Round Towers this morning, in what was a very frustrating game to watch! Our girls were up against it from the get go but managed to keep the lead at half time. They put plenty of scores over the bar and performed some great team play. However, when part of your centre structure, Keila Moore, goes off injured its bound to have an impact. RTs managed to nab more goals than points and scraped the win. Well done to all the Girls this morning in what was a fantastic effort!
Speedy recovery to Keila and Ciara.
